Established in 1861, Zuurberg Mountain
Inn is a haven of historical delight set up high on the Zuurberge, overlooking
the Addo Elephant National Park.
We are only an hour's drive away
from Port Elizabeth on the Indian Ocean. |
| Stepping into the spacious elegance
of the reception hall is like stepping through a time-warp. The huge open
fireplace is warm and welcoming. There is also what must be, one of the
few remaining genuine English pubs in the country. |

The 15 thatched cottages are traditionally
referred to as Zuurberg Village. The bedrooms in the Manor House are furnished
in keeping with the ambience of the establishment. High ceilings, fresh
breezy décor, old fashioned bathtubs and roof fans all make for
comfortable living while guests indulge themselves in nostalgia.
Our Manor Suite has a Jacuzzi, mini-bar,
CD-player as well as an entrance onto the terrace. |
| The dining area is extensive and
enhanced by several features including a counter handcrafted by the 1820
settlers. Meals may also be enjoyed outdoors in the garden overlooking
the pool area. Breakfast is a luxurious affair and lunch and dinner
is a hote d'table.
Outdoor activities such as horse
riding, hiking and mountain biking afford one the opportunity to appreciate
the prolific bird and animal life. Tennis can be enjoyed amid panoramic
views of the area.
For the nature lover there are opportunities
for a 2 Night, 3 Day Zuurberg Mountain Inn/ Addo/ Game Park Experience.
This includes a night game drive into Addo Elephant Park, 4x4 drive in
a game reserve with the Big Five, visit to Kaya Lendaba (African Cultural
Village) and overnight at Zuurberg. Accommodation, all meals, horse
riding, hiking and mountainbiking included. |
