The legend of Meerendal’s Wheatfields Restaurant began in 1712 on a vast landscape of fertile ground, on the slopes of the Tygerberg Hills.

Almost 300 years later the mystery lives on, through families and friends, who visit its grounds to taste the noble wines and to join in the spirit of fine dining.

Wheatfields, has been selected by the FOOD & WINE magazine (May 2006 issue) in New York as ONE of only SEVEN restaurants in Cape Town and the Winelands on their GO LIST of 376 HOTTEST RESTAURANTS in the WORLD!

Also voted the Best Performer in the price catogery R151 - R200 in the ROSSOUWS RESTAURANT GUIDE 2007, by Jean Pierre Rossouw, Cape Town's food & wine writer of note.
