Die Tuishuise has been awarded the
coveted "Simon van der Stel" Gold Medal for restoration. Our unique houses
have been restored to their former splendour, recreating the gracious bygone
era of the 1840's.
Guests are offered the rare opportunity
to escape the present and enjoy the historically rich surrounding, as well
as the personalized service and amenities required by today's discerning
traveller. |
| Die Tuishuise consists of 25 refurbished
Karoo style cottages ideally located in Market Street, Cradock. Each well
appointed, spacious house includes a kitchen, a lounge, private gardens
and off road parking.
All our houses are decorated in their
own distinctive theme of period prints and antique furniture, to reflect
an atmosphere of understated elegance, reminiscent of the lifestyles of
the English and Dutch Settlers at the turn of the century. |

Dinner is served in the Manor House
on the corner of the street. Dining at the Victoria Manor is a country
affair, an indulgence of superb traditional Karoo and South African cuisine.
To complete the South African experience
we arrange an organ recital in the Dutch Reformed Church, modelled on St
Martins - in - the - Field, London. An Afrikaner boy and a Xhosa girl sing
an array of typical South African songs. |
| Escape to the tranquility and romance
of yesteryear, with the old Karoo Charm of Die Tuishuise.
