High in the hills above Knysna,
situated in the heart of South Africa's Garden Route, a beautiful historical
working Citrus and game farm is Portland Manor.
We offer 4 star accommodation in
either Manor House, established 1864, and Lawnwood Lodge.
Each offers the discerning guest
the opportunity to relax and to be spoiled with fine dining in the exquisite
Manor dining room. |
| We have 29 rooms in total, 8 in
the Manor House and 21 in the Lawnwood Lodge. Our Manor House has no TV
or telephone, only tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer.
Selected rooms have 4 poster beds
and spectacular views over the game park and dam (lake) to the Outeniqua
Mountains in the distance.
Our Lawnwood Lodge on the other hand
has TV, DSTV, telephone, modem line, tea and coffee facilities and hairdryer. |

The stylish and atmospheric decor
of the lounge will transport you back to a bygone era. The Cape yellow
wood floor and ceiling give this room a wonderful feel.
The baby grand piano is played to
our guests as they gather in the library, bar and lounge for pre dinner
drinks. The ambience that the music creates is a perfect start to a truly
wonderful evening of fine wining and dining. |
| Here at Portland Manor we offer
a variety of services to our guests, and all manner of interesting activities
to help while away the days.
In our game camp you will find ostrich,
black wildebeest, bontebok, zebra and Hubertha, the only hippopotamus in
the Garden Route.
You may also be lucky enough to spot
some of the indigenous species, which include baboons, bushbuck, bushpig,
clawless cape otter, duiker, grysbok, lynx, vervet monkeys or even the
elusive and extremely rare mountain leopard.
We specialize in weddings, private
functions and conferencing. |
