Hitgeheim Country Lodge, South Africa Hitgeheim Country Lodge is an exclusive thatched lodge in the malaria free Sundays River Valley minutes from the world-famous Addo Elephant National Park. 

This owner managed lodge, situated on a working ostrich, citrus, game farm offers an unique experience where guests can relax in comfort and come face to face with the indigenous ten.

Facilities include a communal lounge dining room, walk-in wine cellar, open air boma and swimming pool set amongst indigenous gardens.

From the private deck of luxurious chalets guests enjoy sweeping views of the Sundays River and Valley Bush.  Interior comforts include stylish décor, 100% percale cotton, couches, bath robes, mini bar, spacious bathrooms with separate toilets and outdoors showers.

Elephants and horse riding Take a guided farm tour, visit the hi-tech ostrich incubators or pick an orange.  Arrange an exhilarating game drive at Addo Elephant National Park or nearby game reserves. 

Or simply stroll through the natural surroundings with or without our qualified guide and experience animals at close range. 

Other activities on the farm include mountain biking and a guided canoe trail, guided horseback safaris and hiking trails.

Afterwards, indulge in a refreshing swim or sundowners on the veranda.  Then savour a traditional dinner and the finest wines from our walk-in cellar, as day gives way to the silence of a vast African night.
