Lamberts
Bay
 |
Situated on South Africa's west
coast, Lamberts Bay is a tiny fishing village where rowing boats are still
used and nothing seems to be in a hurry.
The Bird Island is a very popular
visit with the cape cormorant and gannets breeding there.
Our famous outdoor restaurant is
the "Muisbos Skerm" where you eat for three hours food prepared for you
on coals. They serve 19 different things. |
Boat trips are available and there is
also "The Dunes" which will take you out for sun downers in the dessert.
Here it is where you can either go on a challenging four wheel drive trail
or if you are more adventurous ride their quad bikes on a trial over the
dunes. Some very brave people surf here as well.
Our other restaurants are The Kreefhuis",
excellent for just that and then, and "Issabellas", a most quaint little
restaurant with mussel shells for a floor and serves wonderful meals from
calamari, mussels, to unbeatable cheesecake.
| During the months of August and
September you find this whole area turned into a sea of colour with the
arrival of the "Veld Flowers" such as Gazanias, Mesembs, Wild Rosemary
and Crassula Shrubs.
Enjoy a day trip to the cape winelands
with interesting stops at Clanwilliam and at the seaside villages of Langebaan,
Saldahna and Paternoster. We also have a small museum. |
