The Lowveld region stretches from the steep cliffs of the Drakensberg Escarpment to the western border of Mozambique and all the way down to the border of Swaziland.
A unique attribute to the area is the collection of tourism assets and the predominant land use is for conservation.
Visitors will discover the rich natural heritage of the Lowveld with its claim to fame - the world famous Kruger National Park.
Besides the extraordinarily expansive wilderness area of the Kruger National Park, other provincial and private nature reserves also add to the green zone of the region.
An impressive assortment of bush camps and game lodges guarantee an unforgettable wildlife experience to fill the wishes of any traveller.
In contrast to the untouched wilderness, Bushbuckridge is a densely populated area, occupied mainly by the Shangaan and VaTsonga people.
Hoedspruit lies in the heart of the central lowveld and boasts the Kamogelo Tourism Centre.
Two other places of interest are the Moholoholo
Rehabilitation Centre and the Hoedspruit Research and Breeding Centre for Endangered Species.
Both are unique projects which conduct essential research on endangered species and provide opportunities for the public to view animals that have found a safe home here in natural surroundings.
