Rock painting and Valley of Baboons

Known as the Valley of Baboons, Baviaanskloof is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including cape mountain zebra, red hartebeest, buffalo, eland and baboon.

This region is steeped in history and culture with many San rock paintings and artifacts as old as 100 000 years.

A Khoi San mummy was recently found in one of the mountain caves and is believed to be approximately 200 years old.

At Willowmore, Vulture Mountain offers panoramic views of the area and a wide variety of activities from hiking, biking and bird watching to para-gliding and abseiling.

With the rugged mountains and treacherous valleys, Baviaanskloof is the perfect 4x4 haven.
