Island
Qualiàlea sanctuary nestles
in a forgotten corner of Mozambique's Quirimlas archipelago in the warm
Indian Ocean providing a malaria free haven of luxury and beauty with the
highest degree of seclusion on an entirely private uninhabited tropical
island.
In the 1500’s when the Portuguese
and Arab traders arrived in Quissanga, “The place of sands”, on the mainland
of Mozambique on their way to Quirumla, ships took refuge in Qualiàlea
moorings. |
 |
..
| From this safe haven derived the
Swahili word to sleep or “lala”. Qualiàlea was a secret place
of choice to rest and is now rediscovered.
Only nine luxurious island villas
spaciously handcrafted and built with authentic traditional Muani natural
stone and Makuli palm thatch ensuring cool tropical comfort. Each villa's
private teak deck and shower have an unimpeded panorama of the sea.
From the comfort of the pavilion
scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing trips are arranged. Fishing outside
the sanctuary is from specialized motor yachts or simply sail to discover
this highly biodiverse unspoilt marine ecosystem.
Watch exotic birds in the mangroves
and discover nests in ancient baobab and enjoy the most exotic holiday
you ever experienced. |
